“Arshin mal alan” - “The Cloth Peddler” is a delightful romantic musical comedy created by Azerbaijan’s renowned composer Useyir Hajibayov.
In all centuries the progressive Azerbaijani thinkers always thought about the freedom of Azerbaijani woman and about free love of the youth. By old traditions young people in Azerbaijan would not see each other till the day of marriage/ In the operetta “The Cloth Peddler” U.Hajibayov showed the youth the way of free love. He proved that a man or a woman has to marry of his or her choice.
